Upwardly Global Roadblocks to Workforce Inclusion for Young Adult Immigrants

UpGlo is a national organization that supports immigrants and refugees restarting their careers in the United States. Too often, immigrants and refugees with high levels of education and professional acumen aren’t given the same opportunities in the United States as in their home countries. UpGlo helps connect them to training and opportunities to work in their specific industries and fields.

The Challenge

UpGlo needed help creating branded materials to promote their newest research on the roadblocks to workforce inclusion for young adult immigrants. UpGlo selected Black Digital due to its expertise in creating compelling graphic designs and its strong record of working with a diverse clientele.

Our Solution

Black Digital created the branding and graphics for the entire report, prepared UpGlo’s executive summary, developed a custom website landing page for the report, and deployed organic and paid campaigns on social media to promote UpGlo’s research.

All of UpGlo’s data-driven findings were colored by personal testimonials designed by Black Digital from young immigrants navigating the US job market as an outsider.

The Results

Because of Black Digital’s design and promotion efforts, UpGlo’s groundbreaking report, “Roadblocks to Workforce Inclusion for Immigrant Young Adults,” reached a larger audience. The report included insights from more than 200 immigrants under 30 on the unique employment barriers they face in the US. It coincided with a landing page that allowed viewers to filter critical data based on demographics, enabling them to consume the information from the report in an interactive and compelling way.

The findings and testimonies in Upwardly Global’s new report not only shed important light on the struggles young adult immigrants face in today’s labor market but also offer solutions for policymakers, employers, and workforce development professionals to bridge the gap to employment opportunities that are aligned with skills and career interests.
