UpGlo is a national organization that supports immigrants and refugees restarting their careers in the United States. Too often, immigrants and refugees with high levels of education and professional acumen aren’t given the same opportunities in the United States as in their home countries. UpGlo helps connect them to training and opportunities to work in their specific industries and fields.
Every year, UpGlo seeks to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the UpGlo community nationwide and champion the cause of immigrant and refugee workforce inclusion into the future with its Equity Gala. Given the event’s significance, UpGlo required an experienced partner to manage all marketing, communications, and event production elements.
Black Digital designed a unique brand identity for UpGlo’s 2023 Equity Gala that reflected and celebrated the diverse community UpGlo serves. Our design and marketing teams created all the materials to kickstart the annual event. We created print and digital “Save the Date” reminders, designed the event invitation along with a reply card and return envelope, and created templates for emails about the event.
To increase registration for the gala, Black Digital implemented a tailored digital strategy after consulting with UpGlo and created a new microsite. We also created a social media toolkit for UpGlo’s partners to promote the event. At the event, Black Digital’s work could be seen everywhere, from the program book (both print and digital versions) to the PowerPoint decks presenters used.
Complemented by Black Digital’s marketing and event materials, the Gala highlighted the compelling narratives of immigrants and refugees who overcome systemic barriers to secure professional jobs and create shared prosperity.
