Phi Beta Sigma

Phi Beta Sigma is one of the oldest and most storied historically African-American fraternities in the country. Formed at Howard University in 1914, its members have included civil rights leaders like John Lewis, television personalities like Al Roker, and professional athletes like Jerry Rice. For generations, Phi Beta Sigma has empowered men of culture to dedicate themselves to community service and academics.

The Challenge

Phi Beta Sigma’s existing website featured too much white space and lacked the graphics and design features needed to hold visitors’ attention. There were also functional issues with slow loading times and pages on the main navigation menu that no longer existed.

Our Solution

Black Digital created a website layout with a cleaner, more modern design. By focusing on still images and homing in on a select few brand colors, we designed a homepage that was simple yet eye-catching. A new wireframe led to a more intuitive navigation experience, and existing infographics were updated to match the site’s redesign.

The Results

Phi Beta Sigma’s new website is stunning and ensures easy navigation. Loading times are much improved, enabling users to seamlessly browse back and forth between pages.
