Washington DC Economic Partnership

Background

WDCEP works to bring business and economic development to Washington DC. Through data collection and analysis of the opportunities that DC provides, WDCEP creates impressive arguments for firms to relocate to DC and help the city maintain its status as one of the largest economies in the world.

The Challenge

WDCEP’s website featured an outdated user interface and a confusing wireframe. Its website needed to include a wide breadth of information — including Washington DC’s business incentives, details about the city’s neighborhoods, and the city’s standard of living — but the copy was dense and inaccessible.

The Solution

Black Digital conducted a market analysis of similar organizations to determine best practices for page composition and details like the frequency with which we should include call-to-action buttons. For the new wireframe, we wanted to keep all the necessary information but have a main navigation menu that was far less cluttered. We narrowed the main site to a handful of pages and included an additional hidden menu that, when clicked on, revealed other pages.

Results

WDCEP received a modernized, user-friendly site. The new site runs smoothly and has intuitive navigation that enables users to find the exact information they’re looking for. The new layout of the content is aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate, decreasing bounce rate.
