Level Up Your Storytelling – Turn Ideas Into Impact

DPI Fund needed a visual identity strong enough to carry a genuinely significant research release: a national study identifying five distinct values clusters within the Black electorate, conducted by Katrina Gamble of Sojourn Strategies and Terrance Woodbury of HIT Strategies, in partnership with POWER Interfaith, New Georgia Project, and Detroit Action Education Fund. Research this consequential, the first study to segment the Black electorate into distinct values clusters, needed branding that could hold up under scrutiny from press and policy audiences alike, since the findings were headed for a media briefing, partner organizations, and public release.
Black Digital developed brand strategy and logo design for the Black Values Research initiative, built a visual identity system for research communications and data presentation, and delivered guidance for consistent application across the findings release, balancing approachability with the rigor the research itself demanded.
The research went on to identify five values clusters now used by organizing groups nationally, including POWER Interfaith, New Georgia Project, Detroit Action Education Fund, Florida Rising Together, and North Carolina Black Alliance, to build more effective, values-informed civic engagement programs. The identity Black Digital built helped that research reach the audience it needed to reach.
