Background
AP is a next-generation civil rights organization, rooted in fulfilling America’s promise of a just democracy. It is a multi-racial organization focused on amplifying human rights struggles for equality and justice.
The Challenge
After the social unrest and racial injustice in 2020 globalized awareness of systemic racism in America, AP was interested in reaching disenfranchised Black voters before the 2020 election. It wanted to update its branding to appeal more directly to the target audience.
The Solution
Black Digital met with AP to discuss AP’s goals for the branding update. Those meetings led to the creation of the “Vote by Any Means Necessary” campaign, which utilized a new logo and slogan design to inspire people to vote. The marketing assets that we created also included a microsite that directed visitors to a form to help them register to vote.
Results
The marketing collateral, microsite, and “Vote by Any Means Necessary” campaign were all well-received by the AP team and the local communities that they targeted. After the campaign launched on AP’s site, thousands of disenfranchised voters registered to vote through the form that Black Digital had created.
