Level Up Your Storytelling – Turn Ideas Into Impact

Advancement Project’s work spans voting rights, school policing, community organizing, racial justice, and public education, often several of these at once and on a deadline set by whatever just happened in the news. A single campaign identity was never going to be enough. What the organization needed was a creative partner who could move as fast as the work required, across as many formats as the work took.
Over a multi-year relationship spanning at least 2019 through 2022, Black Digital served as Advancement Project’s creative agency of record, working across print, digital, and web. The team designed the 2019, 2020, and 2021 annual reports and a 2020 year-in-review infographic; supported Bail Out Black Mamas and the Liberation Fund with publication design, campaign creative, paid-ad formats, and donor materials; built Action Camp branding and program materials; produced the Spanish-language We Came to Learn report and action kit; and built the Digital School Policing Timeline and a toolkit for filing school-resource-officer complaints under the Police Free Schools banner. State and local rapid-response work ran alongside the national campaigns: an Arizona county sheriff campaign, Louisiana voter-protection guidance, Michigan voting-rights materials, an Alachua County infographic, and pieces built around moments like National Cousins Day and Ella Baker’s legacy. On the advocacy side, the team created national advertising for Politico and USA Today, produced This Is Our Moment ad creative, developed Vote by Any Means Necessary (VoteBAMN) materials including branded masks and shirts, launched The Sip Hour microsite, built a rights-restoration toolkit, and built state-specific voting resources for Arizona, Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan, and Mississippi. Black Digital also built additional microsites around voter restoration, alongside recurring website updates and landing pages including the George Floyd one-year page. Each initiative got its own visual approach, but the production discipline, and the ability to turn around civil-rights-grade work fast, stayed constant across all of it.
That range is the story here more than any single number: dozens of named campaigns and workstreams spanning annual reports, action kits, fact sheets, timeline posters, and rapid-response advertising, plus ongoing website and creative support, without Advancement Project having to assemble a new creative team for each one. It’s Black Digital functioning as an embedded creative agency for an organization with many issue areas and a news cycle that doesn’t wait.
