Black History Month Toolkit 2025

February is dedicated to honoring the sacrifices and significant achievements of Black people. One month alone cannot nearly encompass all of their historic accomplishments and tribulations.

Join us as we celebrate black culture, black joy, and black leaders.

Featured prominently in our Black History Month logo, the Afro-American Star showcases the contributions of Black Americans to the United States. The Black Star, with its non-symmetrical make-up, represents the diversity and perfect imperfections that make our culture unique. The stripes are synonymous with the American flag, but a Pan-African-inspired palette pays homage to our ancestors. This intersection of symbols signifies the impact of Black culture and ideology on the country today.

The leadership, courage, and resiliency of Black people during slavery, abolition, segregation, the civil rights movement, and today’s fight against racism are unforgettable. Throughout years of tremendous challenges and hardships, trailblazing Black figures arose – and those trailblazers created legacies that will live on.

Black people have shaped our society and culture in more than one way – politics, music, art, fashion – just to name a few. Their journey and contributions throughout U.S. history will always be recognized.
