The National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) is a leading nonprofit dedicated to creating educational and career opportunities for Black professionals. Since 1970, they’ve served as a driving force for professional development, economic empowerment, and community impact. Their signature Annual Conference & Exposition brings together thousands of students, executives, entrepreneurs, and changemakers from across the country for a week of learning, networking, and transformation.
The 46th Annual Conference, themed AFFIRM Excellence and Transformation, was an important milestone—not just in longevity, but in vision. With a growing focus on tech innovation, including a new generative AI Tech Summit, NBMBAA wanted to showcase the dynamic evolution of the event. They needed a partner to build buzz beforehand, capture energy in real time, and translate key moments into lasting content.
NBMBAA needed a content strategy that worked before, during, and after the conference. While the event was known for high attendance and strong programming, its digital storytelling lagged behind. The team wanted more engaging video content, stronger social presence, and coverage that reflected the depth of leadership, opportunity, and innovation on-site.
We began with a discovery session alongside NBMBAA’s VP of Marketing to align on vision, goals, and voice. Together, we identified three messaging pillars: leadership, opportunity, and tech innovation. These themes guided everything—from what we captured to how we captioned it.
At the event, our team acted as an embedded content engine. We interviewed the President, keynote speakers, and attendees, filming high-quality clips that could be quickly edited and posted for maximum impact. Simultaneously, we served as NBMBAA’s on-the-ground social team—managing live posts, story coverage, and engagement across platforms.
We prioritized standout programming: women-led sessions, dynamic panels, and the AI Tech Summit—all tied to the conference’s AFFIRM theme. Our edits were short-form, mobile-friendly, and ready for LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.

The content we produced didn’t just document the event—it amplified it. Key video clips captured the energy and excellence of the conference in real time, sparking meaningful engagement across platforms. Several posts gained viral traction organically, especially those featuring women-led panels and the Tech Summit’s conversations around generative AI.
Members, partners, and attendees responded with enthusiasm, sharing the content widely and celebrating the visibility it brought to the event’s purpose. For NBMBAA, the campaign offered more than just coverage—it helped position the conference as a forward-looking, community-driven experience. And long after the event ended, the videos, graphics, and recaps continued working behind the scenes—strengthening brand presence, energizing stakeholders, and creating a digital archive that extends the life of the conference year-round.
