Campaign Legal Center Digital Voter Restoration Campaign

Overview

Restore Your Vote (RYV) is a program of Campaign Legal Center (CLC) dedicated to helping formerly incarcerated citizens reclaim their right to vote. When RYV needed to scale its outreach, they turned to Black Digital to build and run a full lead generation campaign that could reach eligible citizens, activate partner organizations, and create a clear pathway to voter restoration in key states across the country.

Challenge

RYV needed more than awareness. They needed a system that could generate real leads, get those leads into the hands of partner organizations quickly, and measure what was working across multiple states. The campaign had to serve two audiences at once: the individuals who needed their rights restored, and the partners responsible for following up with them.

Approach

We built the full lead generation infrastructure. This included designing the campaign creative and messaging, setting up optimized lead capture forms, and creating a Zapier-powered dashboard that automatically routed leads to the appropriate partner organizations in real time. The system was simple enough for partners to use immediately without technical support. We educated partner teams on how to work the leads, managed ongoing campaign optimization, and ran targeted outreach in key states including Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia, and Nevada. On the brand side, we established a distinct visual identity for RYV that felt autonomous and mission-forward while maintaining a strategic connection to the Campaign Legal Center parent brand.

Impact

The campaign has directly contributed to the restoration of voting rights for thousands of formerly incarcerated citizens across multiple states. The partner dashboard system continues to route leads efficiently to organizations on the ground, creating a scalable infrastructure for ongoing voter restoration work.
