DCTV’s website relied on a broken two-step process: a WordPress landing page that redirected visitors to separate Drupal pages just to access streaming content. This handoff was slow, felt outdated, and positioned an innovative media network as technically behind the times.
The organization was rolling out a rebrand and needed a digital platform that felt competitive with modern streaming services. Taking the site offline for a redesign wasn’t an option. Broadcasting had to continue uninterrupted.
Black Digital consolidated everything onto a single platform, eliminating the WordPress-to-Drupal redirect entirely. The design drew directly from patterns used by Netflix, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime—familiar browsing experiences for visitors already accustomed to streaming platforms.
Backend performance optimization reduced page load times and rendering errors. A phased launch kept DCTV’s existing site operational throughout development; the switchover happened in 24 hours once content was approved. The internal team received CMS training so DCTV’s project manager could add channels and manage content independently.
The unified streaming experience launched on schedule, ahead of the rebrand deadline. Page load performance improved and visitor friction decreased. DCTV’s team can now add and update channels independently.
The site positioned DCTV as a modern media organization rather than a legacy public access channel—a positioning that matters when competing for new viewers, creators, and funding.
