Services:
Platform Migration, Event Registration Architecture, Program Directory, UX/UI Design, Web Development, Resource Library
Key Complexity:
Symposium registration integrated directly into site, Climate Justice Fellows directory, complex content categorization for researchers/policymakers/community partners, hard launch deadline
CEEJH was transitioning to independence and outgrowing Squarespace. The organization had a hard deadline: the Environmental Justice and Health Disparities Symposium was approaching, and the existing site couldn’t support event registration, the new Climate Justice Fellows program, or the expanded stakeholder audiences (community partners, researchers, policymakers).
Black Digital replaced Squarespace with a custom platform. The symposium page was integrated directly into the main site with live registration, real-time agenda widget, and sponsor recognition—visitors could register and explore the program without leaving the site.
A Climate Justice Fellows directory was added so prospective fellows could learn about the program and current cohort members could be featured. A resources library with complex categorization helped researchers and policymakers find reports and toolkits by topic.
Internal staff received training and documentation so content updates could happen independently.
CEEJH now runs a mission-aligned site supporting its symposium, fellows program, and advocacy work. The custom symposium integration remains active and powers registration and the live agenda widget for the annual Environmental Justice and Health Disparities Symposium.
