Black Values Research Survey

Overview

Sojourn Strategies is a Black woman-owned social impact consulting firm working at the intersection of advocacy, research, and philanthropy. Their Black Values Research project was a groundbreaking national study that moved beyond demographic proxies to understand how values, identity, and attitudinal measures shape how Black voters think and engage politically. The research needed a brand identity, a designed report, and a digital home that matched the rigor and significance of the work.

Challenge

This was not a typical research report. The Black Values project was innovative, nationally significant work with real implications for Black political power and voter engagement strategy. The creative needed to reflect both academic credibility and cultural resonance, reaching audiences from grassroots organizers to major philanthropic funders.

Approach

We created the logo and full brand identity for the project, designed the research report, and developed a microsite to house and distribute the findings. Every creative decision was made to amplify reach and position the research as a landmark contribution to the field of political strategy and civic engagement.

Impact

The Black Values Research was featured in The New York Times and recognized as a finalist for the Reed Awards (Campaigns & Elections) for innovation in political research. The project has shaped how organizations think about Black voter engagement and is informing advocacy strategy across the country.
