NFHA’s policy publications, including HUD reports, needed design that could make dense housing research accessible to policymakers, industry partners, and the public without losing credibility or nuance.
Black Digital designed layout and visual hierarchy for policy report content, built a production system supporting complex research publications, and delivered design work for HUD and related policy reports, including Building Inclusive Communities, produced for HUD, along with report and infographic design covering topics like appraisal reform, Special Purpose Credit Programs, and down payment assistance. Policy reports carry real consequences when policymakers act on them, so the design work focused on clarity and credibility, giving dense research data visualizations and layouts that support understanding rather than working against it, with reusable templates built to speed up future editions rather than starting from scratch each time.
